The original version of the coffee table

Making an inexpensive coffee table using metal spike-shaped legs and an old wooden pallet is not difficult at all. Moreover, such a project can be done in the shortest possible time. This is a great find for those who like to experiment, craft functional objects, bring something new to the interior, saving enough money. The designer table can serve as an additional place for storing books, magazines, diaries, remotes.

Materials

  1. Pallet
  2. Saw
  3. Hammer
  4. Timber
  5. Drill
  6. A set of four 12 or 14 inch metal legs (you can order them in online stores)
  7. Brushes
  8. Clear nail polish

Stages

1. Determine which sizes of the coffee table will be optimal for your room. Start with a pallet. Remove and replace trims as necessary. As a rule, pallets do differently. In some, the planks are located far from each other, while in others - very close or close. Cut off the excess part of the pallet with a saw, and fix its strips in the open rails of the new product, as shown in the photo.

2. When working with a hammer, be extremely careful not to break the bars. Keep in mind - wood can be very dry and brittle.

3. Fasten the bottom of the pallet using a few extra slats or wooden blocks. On both sides, hammer in two sheets of planks adjacent to each other so that there is enough space for fastening the metal legs.

4. Using the drill, fix the corners for the legs. Attach the legs to the special drilled holes in the corners.

5. Before you start applying varnish, carefully sand the surface of the table. Coat the surface evenly with varnish and let it dry for several hours.

Finally, your new table is ready to transform the room and tidy up a whole pile of magazines, books and many other everyday items.
