How to grow a flower

The plant is grown from seeds at home. If you hope to soon enjoy the flowering plants, it makes no sense to sow seeds in the ground. Petunia is best planted in open ground in the form of seedlings. It is worth noting that transplanting a petunia is very easy, seedlings take root very quickly in a new place. With the introduction of new plant varieties, breeders tried their best. The numerous number of colors and coloring of these flowers allows you to create the most unusual floral arrangements. Specialists distinguish several groups of varieties of hybrid petunia.

Bush petunia

This is the largest group, which includes different types of plants. Here you can find small multi-flowered bushes with bud diameters up to 4 cm or tall plants with huge inflorescences up to 16 cm in diameter. Such a petunia, as a rule, grows quite well and creates lush flower hats on the flowerbed. This group of petunias is ideal for planting along curbs or flower beds, but compact bushes are simply ideal for placement in containers. The most famous varieties of petunias of this group are considered hybrids of the Fantasy, Dream, and Titanium series, as well as the Polaris flowering series and the Storm series, which is resistant to different weather conditions.

Cascading petunia

The traditional representatives of this group are the petunias Silver, Rose, Typhoon, Ramblin and Cherry. These varieties of petunias, even under not very favorable conditions, are able to produce branches up to half a meter long, all strewn with inflorescences. It is this group of petunias that is ideal for decorating balconies, terraces and gazebos.

Ampel Petunia

Unlike cascading petunia, ampelous petunia releases flowing branches, which is ideal for decorating flowerpots with flower garlands. However, such a plant can also be planted in the flowerbed, however, it is worth considering that the ampelous petunia will spread along the ground. In this group, among flower growers, Petunia "Surfinia" is quite famous, which has a very rich selection of colors. In addition, this variety blooms quite early, grows rapidly and does not require special care. Speaking of ampelous petunia, one cannot but mention such varieties as “Lilac surf”, “Wave” and “Pearl surf”.

Floribunda

All plants of this group have many large flowers that are resistant to weather. The most spectacular variety of this group is terry petunias, which are simply ideal for filling large areas of soil. One of the best Flowers in this group is the petunia Sonia Orchid, whose bright flowers are decorated with numerous contrasting veins. The series of this variety of petunia with a white star in the center includes eleven colors, ranging from raspberry pink to blue-violet. Another common species among gardeners is the Celebrity petunia. In addition to a large selection of colors, this series is also very easy to tolerate heat and rain.

Flowerbed Design Ideas

This is not to say that carpet planting of flowers is a thing of the past, however, more and more containers are used to decorate flower beds, and for such a design, petunia is an ideal plant. Just imagine how the flowerbed, covered with green grass, on which there are huge flowerpots with flower bouquets and beautiful garlands hanging directly to the ground, will look original. By the way, such flowerpots can also be placed on a tiled courtyard, which will make the composition even more expressive against the general background. As a flowerpot, you can use any unnecessary buckets, pans or other vessels, having previously painted them outside. A flowerbed using containers will look great both in polychrome and in monochrome.

Such a flower garden is easy to place under the window, securing the container to the ebb or wall. In this case, the view will be simply gorgeous, both indoors and outdoors. To design such a composition, you can use both bush petunia and ampelous.

Another fairly popular option for decorating flower beds in hanging pots. Such a decoration will look original under a canopy or on the balcony of your home. Imagine floral fragrant clouds flying under the roof. With such a design, any gazebo or terrace will be transformed beyond recognition and will certainly delight its owners and guests with their appearance.

Petunia is such an amazing flower that in order to create a beautiful landscape design using this plant, the sucker does not need to be very sophisticated and invent complex compositions. This plant will simply look great even if planted in a row along paths and fences or in stone-paved flowerbeds.

Summing up the above, we can say that petunia is an ideal plant for creating at the same time a simple, harmonious and mesmerizing design of a personal plot for which complex combinations are not needed at all. The only thing to remember is the characteristics of each species of a given plant and its ability to grow.
