Home care for indoor plants

Temperature

In spring and summer, the optimum content will be at 25 degrees. In autumn and winter 16-18 degrees.

Watering

Water 2 times a week with warm water. Water for irrigation should not contain lime impurities. Humidity in a room with anthurium should be more than 75%. This humidity can be achieved through daily manual or automatic spraying. However, water should be avoided from inflorescences.

Important! The earth in the pot should not dry out and at the same time should not stagnate. It is important to control the water balance for Anthurium.

Shine

It should be bright, but scattered. Direct sunlight can destroy the leaves of Anthurium. This flower is a resident of the tropics and it is precisely such lighting that will be most favorable to it. In winter, it needs additional artificial lighting.

Priming

Need loose, slightly acidic, breathable. The best solution would be a mixture of humus, turf and sand. The addition of moss and expanded clay is prohibited.

Pruning

  1. Inspect the plant and determine if there are hanging, excess, or wilted branches.
  2. Take the pruner and carefully, starting from the upper branches in the direction at an angle down, remove excess, dry, discolored.
  3. Sprinkle lightly with water spray to heal the cropped area.

Top dressing

Subcortex is very important for crystal Anthurium. They can be purchased at specialized stores. As a rule, in such mixtures the composition is selected in the most optimal way. You need to feed once every two weeks.

Pot

Must be chosen perfectly to the size of the roots. No more and no less.

Transfer

In the first four years, young plants are transplanted annually from early spring to autumn. Then once every three years.

  1. If the flower is bought in a store, then it needs to be transplanted within two to three days. You need to carefully remove the plant from a temporary pot, remove temporary peat from the roots.
  2. Treat the roots with disinfectants. For example, "Fitoflavin."
  3. In a new pot at the bottom lay drainage, about a quarter of the volume and a layer of sphagnum.
  4. Place the flower and gently fill it with special soil so that the growth bud is at the level of the soil.
Important! The soil for anthurium must be changed in a timely manner during the transplantation, since a plaque harmful to the flower is formed on its surface. This means that the soil is depleted and there are almost no useful minerals left in it.

Wintering

In winter, plant nutrition is not required, but it is important to provide light through additional artificial lighting and maintain a temperature of at least 15 degrees.

Propagation Features

Crystal Anthurium propagated by cuttings and seeds.

Cutting is best done in the spring.

  1. Separate the upper stems with several leaves or side branches with roots.
  2. Cut off with a sharp knife and placed in a glass of water or vermiculite.
  3. After the appearance of visible roots, they are transferred to the main pot.

The seed propagation method is also produced in the spring.

  1. Seeds bought or obtained from fruits are sown to the surface and wait for seedlings.
  2. About 2 months after planting, the first sprouts appear. They are planted in small temporary pots and, as real leaves appear, are transferred to the main ones.

Disease

  • Gray rot. If a grayish coating appears on the leaves, then most likely this is a disease. Appears due to too much humidity.

It is necessary to transplant in a new, dry soil and temporarily stop watering.

  • Anthracnose. It manifests itself when the sheets dry around the edges. It is necessary to remove diseased leaves and reduce moisture.

It can be treated with fungicides.

  • Scalp leaves sticky yellow discharge.
  • And mealybugs can be seen with the naked eye.
If the plant was attacked by pests, you need to remove the damaged parts and treat the plant with intexcid preparations.
