How to make a simple stand for books made of wood with your own hands

An unusual and creative thing in the interior, made by yourself, can become an indispensable attribute of the style and taste of the owners of the house. Try to create a bright wooden stand for books, and your room will noticeably change.

Materials

half a log (can be either thicker or thinner);
brushes;
multi-colored paints;
grinding block:
saw;
varnish as desired for the finished product.

Step by step

Choose a bar the size of which is best suited for a future stand. If you cannot find the best option, you will have to use a saw. As a result, the base of the product should be wide enough to reliably hold the collection of your favorite books. Saw the log into 4 sectors, from which you can make as many as two harmoniously complementing each other stands.
You can also cut the central part of the workpiece, depending on how many books you plan to place, but this is optional.
Using sandpaper, thoroughly clean the surface of the cuts from sawdust. The top of the product (cortical surface) is best left in its natural state.
Make paints for your decor. In our case, golden, peach and pink colors were used. The ombre effect looks very elegant here: pink smoothly turns into peach, and peach turns into golden. Dry the finished product thoroughly. Such a stand can serve, for example, for storing the most beloved books or the most frequently used useful literature.

Varnish for this project is not necessary. Here we left the stand more natural and natural. But if you wish, you can cover the product with varnish, giving it a light shine and a finished look.

Decor in this case may be the most unusual and varied. Leave the product in its original natural state, make it plain, multi-colored or follow our example - you decide. The main thing is that your favorite book stand looks harmoniously against the background of the general interior.
