How to make a lamp from a bottle of wine with your own hands

We all like beautiful lights. This is a great option to transform the interior of almost any room. And what is most interesting, such unusual decor items can be done with your own hands. For example, you can use old bottles of wine and turn them into lamps, adding a magical mood to your living room or bedroom.

1. We select the working material

Collect all the empty wine bottles that you have and choose 2 or 3 of them the same. Of course, you can take different ones, but from the same you get an integral composition.

2. Delete labels

Labels must be carefully removed from each bottle, if this process is difficult, you can use a sponge and warm water.

3. Washing the bottle

Bottles must be thoroughly washed both externally and internally. And then dry well.

4. We mark the place for wires

On the bottle, it is necessary to mark the place where the wires will come out. It is preferable to choose for this a side wall near the bottom. It will look much neater and more aesthetic.

5. Prepare water

In order to make a hole in a glass bottle, you will need water, so prepare it in advance.

6. Power tool

Prepare and connect the power tool with which you will drill a hole in the bottle. For such delicate work you will need a drill with a diamond crown.

7. We use clay

We form a clay cake and put it on the mark where we will drill. In the process of drilling, it will be necessary to occasionally slowly and gently pour water into the hole. This is necessary so that the drill and the bottle itself do not overheat.

8. Finished drilling

Drill slowly and carefully. After the drilling process is completed, remove the clay and clean the bottle.

9. Use sandpaper

To ensure that the hole obtained is smooth and cannot be injured, it is necessary to clean it with sandpaper, grain size 150 mm.

10. Re-cleaning the bottle

After processing the hole with sandpaper, we clean the bottle again.

11. LED lights or garlands

We prepare LED lights or garlands. A composition of two bottles with one-color lights and one with multi-colored looks very beautiful. But it all depends on your taste and preference.

12. Insert the lights

Pull garlands into the resulting hole so that the wires for connection remain outside.

13. Gasket in the opening of the bottle

It is optimal, although not necessary, to insert a rubber gasket into the drilled hole in the bottle. This will protect against accidental injuries associated with the edges of the hole. In addition, the hole will take on a completely honorable appearance.

14. Fasten the wires

After installing the gasket (optional, of course), you must carefully secure the wires.

15. Connect

The final step will be to connect a new lamp to the outlet. We turn on and enjoy the beautiful sight that envelops not only the room, but also our soul with a pleasant enchanting light.

16. Done
