Corner sofas in the interior or how to create a cozy living room

The living room or, as it is customary in our country to say the hall, is a place where the whole family gathers, where they receive guests and celebrate family celebrations. That is why the design of the living room is directly connected with sofas, armchairs and soft corners. And if for several decades in a furniture store a straight-line sofa and a pair of armchairs were considered to be a soft corner, now it is more often called a corner sofa. This piece of furniture has long been popular in Western countries, but here it appeared relatively recently and immediately gained numerous fans.

The advantages of a corner sofa

The popularity of such a sofa is justified, because it is really a very convenient design, which allows you to place a maximum of people on the sofa, while occupying a minimum of space. All this is thanks to the developers who created designs suitable not only for the spacious halls of huge mansions, but also for standard city apartments. It’s not at all difficult to find a compact corner sofa in the furniture store, which will ideally fit into the free corner of the room and at the same time free up space in the center. This option is an ideal solution for a small room where two zones should fit: a bedroom and a living room.

So, the first advantage of a corner sofa is that, unlike the usual version of a soft corner, it takes up much less space, which is very important for small-sized housing.

In the second place is its originality, because the corner sofa itself looks very interesting. Moreover, it is not necessary that it be made with the letter "G", there are models that are made like the letter "P" and if there is such a sofa, additional chairs are definitely not needed. As a rule, it is placed along a smaller wall, this allows to minimize the space occupied by it. However, the design idea of ​​the creators of the corner sofa did not end there, they went even further and came up with an original shape in the form of an arc. And with such furniture, even the most dull and faceless room will take on an original look.

Color scheme and upholstery

It's no secret that color plays a very important role in the interior. It is on him that the perception of the whole space depends. Therefore, the selection of the colors of the future sofa must be approached with all responsibility. If there is no way to make furniture to order, and often it happens, then it is better to choose the right model before starting repairs and only then, based on the color of the sofa, create an interior. This option will be much better and more economical than making the interior decoration and stalling on furniture.

Speaking directly about the color of the corner sofa, there are three main criteria by which to choose it:

1. If you want the sofa to become the main accent in the room, then contrasting and bright tones are ideal for this purpose. For example, for a room in calm neutral tones, a corner of a rich juicy color is ideal.
2. A classic combination of light and dark shades will also look good. For example, a dark, almost black sofa will ideally fit into a room with light walls.

On such a sofa, contrasting decorative pillows will look original. And here it should be noted that it is the decorative elements that will set the tone for the entire room.
3. Connoisseurs of natural materials will appreciate the upholstery of corner sofas made of genuine leather. Such furniture will be very expensive, but it will look just fine in a country-style room. But sofas with linen upholstery will organically fit into the rustic style.
