Polyurethane stucco molding

Today, decorative stucco molding made of polyurethane is considered an alternative to traditional gypsum stucco, because it is stronger, does not turn yellow and does not crumble over time. And if gypsum stucco is used in most cases in rooms with high ceilings, then polyurethane stucco looks spectacular in small rooms, even with low ceilings. By the way, do not forget that in rooms with a high level of humidity “gypsum” does not last long, which cannot be said about polyurethane.

Spectacular improvement

In order to skillfully "age" the polyurethane, carefully walk with acrylic beige shades on concave surfaces. But when blending the edges with a wet sponge, you need to prime the polyurethane stucco molding in advance. And to improve the effect, you can do the same basic or complementary color used in the interior. And to give volume, you need to go through the paint several tones lighter on the convex elements.

A distinctive feature of this decor is the ability to paint. First, the surface is primed with acrylic or nitro enamel, and then painted with the walls (mainly in contrasting colors). Polyurethane stucco molding is considered to be a universal decorating material - it clearly fits into the interior of any of the styles, harmoniously combined with different types of materials for decoration. Stucco molding from polyurethane can be successfully combined with wallpaper. On basic wallpaper, for example, you can make a cartouche from a molding and paste wallpaper with the desired pattern into it.

Advantages of polyurethane stucco molding:

  1. ease of installation;
  2. the possibility of coloring is a great way to complement and decorate any interior;
  3. impact resistance - has sufficient strength from various kinds of mechanical damage;
  4. does not require special care (the possibility of use in the kitchen and in the bathroom);
  5. odors are not absorbed, dust does not accumulate and does not crumble at all;
  6. absolute material safety.

You should not consider polyurethane stucco molding as a decor only in economy class, because there are many branded European companies whose product quality is clearly determined by the features of the details. Unlike Chinese materials, high-quality polyurethane stucco molding is very light, does not shrink and does not expand when the temperature drops, it does not crack over time and does not give gaps at the joints. And it is mounted on a special glue (like liquid nails). Read more about other decoration options here.
