Features of black sliding wardrobes, selection tips

The sliding wardrobe is equipped with sliding doors and does not take up much space when opened, so it can be installed even in a narrow corridor, a small hallway or in the room between the wall and the sofa. Such a design as a black sliding wardrobe has many advantages over similar furniture of a different color: it creates an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance, looks expensive and solid, makes the interior more elegant, interesting, able to merge with the wall and make the room visually spacious.

The competent use of dark furniture allows you to make the interior of the room more stylish and respectable. Black contains all the other colors of the spectrum, so everyone finds something interesting for him. This color is basic, against its background other tones sound more expressively. However, the excess of dark shades makes the room gloomy, cold, devoid of comfort, so you should carefully choose the color of the facade, especially if the cabinet occupies a significant space.

Do not install a black sliding wardrobe in a small room, the windows of which are facing north, since the room in this case will look like a dark basement.

Even if the room is spacious enough, a large dark sliding wardrobe can create an unpleasant oppressive sensation. In this situation, mirror inserts on the facade will be the best solution - they will visually make bulky furniture elegant, and the room - airy and light. The design, equipped with a mirror, will become more convenient and functional. This design option is suitable even for small rooms, as well as corridors or hallways, devoid of daylight.

Sliding wardrobes are divided into three main categories:

  • modular;
  • case;
  • embedded.
Built inCaseModular

Modular sliding wardrobes consist of a set of separate blocks, so that each customer can choose the set that best suits his needs. The case model is a full-fledged independent cabinet, in which there are upper, lower, rear and two side planes. The built-in cabinet is made according to individual measurements and is installed in a specific place specified by the customer. In this model, the side walls and the back panel are the walls of the room.

Compared with the case analogue, the built-in version has several advantages and one drawback. Custom built-in sliding wardrobe has a large usable volume due to the absence of extra walls. For production, less material is used, so the cost of the model, as a rule, is slightly lower than the case options. However, it should be noted that installation should only be carried out with perfectly even surfaces of the floor and walls. Before installation, all irregularities should be eliminated: align the walls and make a screed, which will entail additional costs. The drawback of built-in cabinets is that they are absolutely not mobile: once the design is installed, it is no longer possible to rearrange it to a new place.

Also, black sliding wardrobes differ in the texture of the facade, which can be:

  • glossy;
  • matte;
  • smooth;
  • textured;
  • combined.

Glossy black doors are one of the most popular coupe design options. They are able to reflect light rays, from which the room becomes lighter, brighter, visually spacious. The black gloss looks elegant, unusual, stylish, but requires careful care: dust and the smallest spots are visible on a smooth, shiny surface, so you will have to wipe the facade quite often. The matte facade is more practical, but not able to reflect light, therefore it requires additional design elements: mirrors, light or bright inserts. The matte doors of the compartment look more relaxed and solid, they are easier to adapt to the rest of the home.

Smooth doors are more convenient to care for, easy to clean with conventional means, they look simple but stylish. The textured facade can be made of various materials and have a different coating. One of the most popular options are rattan woven inserts, as well as MDF boards with an embossed surface. For more expensive models, leather, ebony, and other luxury materials are used. Often the facade is made of materials that mimic the texture of a tree, for example, oak wenge.

The most popular and relevant coupe model has a combined facade made of several types of materials. Doors with glass or a mirror, monophonic or decorated with design patterns, are popular. Also, a dark color can be diluted and supplemented with details of a lighter or brighter tone: chocolate, beige, red, white.

The black sliding wardrobe is ideally suited to the style of minimalism, high-tech, glamor. The interior, decorated in pastel, bright colors, often lacks bright accents that make the atmosphere characteristic. The dark facade will enliven the room, the floor and walls of which are finished in white, beige, cream or light gray tones. In such an environment, a black cabinet will be an excellent continuation of a competent, thoughtful design. It is undesirable to install a dark compartment in a room with an abundance of burgundy, chocolate, blue in the decoration and furniture elements.

The most harmoniously coupe is combined with laconic furniture, simple silhouettes, textiles of restrained colors. Patterns on the upholstery of upholstered furniture and curtains should be simple, with a light geometric ornament or plain. Floral or floral patterns will look out of place, as well as ethnic motifs. Bright accents in the form of colored cushions, paintings, other wall decor are allowed. It is preferable to choose an upholstery of furniture of a suitable texture: leather, gabardine, other smooth materials. The use of velvet and velor is strictly not recommended.

It should also be remembered that the paired parts, arranged symmetrically, fill the interior with harmony. Opposite the black cabinet, place another dark element, for example, a floor lamp, a table, a soft padded stool or a small armchair. Such a minor addition will make the situation balanced, comfortable.

You can position the closet along the wall, near the front door, in the corner or hide in a niche. The final decision depends on the wishes of the buyer, however, it is necessary to take into account the architectural features of each room.

In the room, the compartment should be installed along a short wall, in which case the space will become closer to the ideal square shape, so it will be more pleasant to be here. The coupe in this case will look almost imperceptible, and the decorative elements of the facade will become a wonderful decoration of the interior. It is not recommended to put a continuous cabinet along a long wall, since such an arrangement will make the room look like a narrow corridor, train car or warehouse. This option will deprive the space of comfort.

Volumetric sliding door wardrobe looks harmonious and even elegant when installed in the entrance area. So the design visually merges with the wall, and when entering the room will not put pressure on the visitor. If the door is located in the middle of the wall, it makes sense to choose the option with two cabinets instead of one and mount them on the sides of the entrance. At the same time, the room will be freed from unnecessary details and corners, will become more accurate, aesthetic and balanced.

It is better to use the entire surface of the wall around the entrance, both on the sides and directly above it. Such a move will create the appearance of a solid wall and the room will become more neat.

The corner wardrobe can have several modifications:

  • diagonal - the design with the equal length of the side panels is most popular, however, other options are possible. The cabinet, which has only one side panel and is attached to the other wall at an acute angle, looks interesting, unusual, using this simple design technique you can change the architecture of the room beyond recognition. In this case, the shape of the room changes, the corners are smoothed out, the space becomes memorable, stylish. Such a cabinet is quite spacious, but at the same time takes up a small space, therefore it is well suited for small rooms;
  • cabinet, forming a right angle - the doors are located at an angle of 90 degrees with respect to each other. This option is one of the most common. Most often used for small rooms where you want to place a large number of things and furniture elements. High floor-to-ceiling construction will look most advantageous.

If the room has a niche - this is the perfect place for a closet. In this case, it is necessary to make an individual order so that the cabinet is made exactly according to the necessary standards. The furniture will be spacious, functional, comfortable, but completely invisible to prying eyes. This design can be installed in the pantry and turn it into a separate small, but comfortable dressing room. If the apartment does not have a finished niche, you can make it from drywall, equip it with spotlights and turn it into a real decoration of the situation. In this case, the cost of materials and installation will be negligible.

A dark cabinet is best installed in a spacious, well-lit room. During the day, a large amount of sunlight is needed, and in the evening, sources of bright artificial lighting should be used, otherwise in the evening the room will be filled with gloomy dark silhouettes. A room is best suited that the sun illuminates for several hours in a row throughout the day, with the largest number of windows facing south, southeast, and also southwest. If you want to install a compartment in a small room, where the windows face the north side, you should take care of the sources of artificial lighting: spotlights, sconces, floor lamps.

The rules for caring for a black cabinet are dictated by the materials from which it is made. The glossy facade must be wiped several times a week with a soft cloth using a furniture polish, otherwise fingerprints will be visible on the shiny surface. The matte and textured facade is less demanding. All that is required is to brush off the dust once or twice a week and periodically wipe the surface with a damp sponge. Glass or mirrored doors must be washed with a special glass cleaner to avoid streaks. The interior space also requires maintenance. The bottom panel, that is, the “floor” of the cabinet, should be vacuumed once every 7-10 days, and the bar should be wiped with a damp sponge.
