The rose was opened by Amadeus in 2003 by the famous breeder William Cordes. As a result of breeding work, it was possible to create a plant with high resistance to typical diseases.

Grade Features

Features of the variety are resistance to various diseases, weather conditions, as well as excellent decorative qualities. Thanks to this, the plant at the International Flower Competition in HradecKralove received a prize and a Bagatelle certificate.

Bloom

When and how?

The Amadeus rose begins to bloom in early June, and ends in late summer or September. During this period, the bush is covered with terry roses of raspberry color.

Care before and after

All that needs to be done during flowering is to water the flower moderately and apply mineral fertilizing with potassium content. After flowering, watering is reduced, the faded buds are removed, the last top dressing is made, the plant is prepared for wintering.

What to do if it does not bloom?

When the Amadeus rose does not please with beautiful and fragrant flowers, the following problems must be eliminated by the grower:

  1. Arrange a well-lit area with fertile soil.
  2. Protect the plant from parasites and diseases by conducting timely preventive treatment.
  3. Trim the bush in time and transplant.

Step-by-step care instructions

Seat selection

Rosa Amadeus must be grown in a well-lit and well-ventilated area. If there is not enough sunlight, the growth of the stems will be slowed down. The area allocated for the plant should be illuminated by sunlight 2-3 times a day.

What should be the soil?

Loose, permeable and loamy earth is suitable for roses. If the soil will consist of heavy clay, then it will be necessary to dilute it with lime.

Landing

Landing work can be carried out in autumn or spring, following the procedure:

  1. Dig a hole 50x50 cm.
  2. Add natural sandy soil or black soil to it.
  3. For basic soil preparation during planting, it is necessary to introduce organic matter - humus, compost. For 1 bush, 3-4 buckets are required.
  4. Make sure that groundwater does not rise above 1.5 m.
  5. Lay the drain and sleep a little with its fertile soil.
  6. Plant a seedling, spread its roots and sprinkle with the remaining nutrient mixture. Water the young plant.

Temperature

A temperature of 23-25 degrees has a positive effect on the growth and development of the rose. In winter, with light shelter, the Amadeus variety can withstand -30 degrees.

Watering

Moisturize the soil once a weekusing standing and warm water. In summer, during extreme heat and during flowering, watering should be done 2 times a week.

Top dressing

Humus, which was added to the planting pit, nourishes the flower for 2 years. Later, the bush will need additional nutrition. In the spring, manure is introduced, which activates the growth of young stems. In autumn, organic matter is not required, since the overgrown branches do not have time to get stronger and freeze in winter.

For autumn top dressing use such fertilizers:

  • potassium sulfate, calimagnesia, sulfate, potassium chloride;
  • double and simple superphosphate;
  • slaked lime, dolomite flour, chalk, wood ash (compositions containing calcium).
Throughout the growing season, the Amadeus rose requires nutrition 4-5 times.

To nourish the bush with potassium, you can use this solution:

  1. water - 10 l;
  2. potassium monophosphate - 16 g;
  3. superphosphate - 15 g.

In order for the bushes to get the necessary amount of phosphate, you need to add 10 g of magnesium sulfate to 10 liters of water. For calcium top dressing, a solution obtained from 20 nitrate and 10 l of water is used.

Pruning

These activities should be carried out when the air temperature drops to -5 degrees. Then the plant will get stronger and will not die during winter frosts.

Cropping Features:

  1. After the working tool has been disinfected, you need to remove those branches that can become a source of infection for healthy stems. This includes shoots with brown or black spots, covered with rust or mold.
  2. Broken, weakened shoots, not fallen leaves and faded inflorescences are removed.
  3. Healthy branches need to be shortened to 30 cm from the soil surface.

How to tie a plant?

Since the rose grows very quickly, you need to think in advance about the direction of the branches. As soon as they grow to 50 cm, it is necessary to install vertical supports for garter. Throughout the season, many such racks will be required, since many side shoots grow from each lash. After this, the flowering becomes longer and more plentiful.

Transfer

It is necessary to carry out such events in early autumn so that the roots have time to adapt before winter. You can also transplant in the spring, after the thawed soil.

Procedure:

  1. Dig up the bush very carefully so as not to damage the root system.
  2. Leave only high-quality root processes, and cut off the rest with a secateurs.
  3. Dig a new hole, lay down the drainage and establish the plant, carefully spread the roots so that they do not bend up.
  4. Sprinkle the landing pit with earth, and after 2 days add more soil, as it can settle.

Preparation for winter

For the rose Amadeus, shelter for the winter is a mandatory procedure. She needs high-quality thermal insulation. For shelter, you can use two methods: leave the lashes in place or remove them from the support.

If you use the second method, the procedure is as follows:

  1. Remove shoots from the rack, remove all old and weak branches, leaving only 12 of the strongest processes.
  2. Tie them and press them to the ground, fixing with pegs.
  3. Cover bushes with spruce branches, and sprinkle earth on the base.
  4. Cover the entire structure with a thick film.

How to propagate?

Cuttings

Procedure:

  1. Cut the stem from the parent plant, on which 2 internodes will be present.
  2. At the bottom, cut a fragment at an angle of 45 degrees and under the kidney. At the top, the cut should be flat.
  3. Remove the lower leaves from the handle.
  4. In the prepared pot with sandy soil, install the handle, and cover with a plastic bottle on top.
  5. Set the plant in a well-lit place.

Layering

Procedure:

  1. In the spring, from the shoots that are located below, choose the most attractive.
  2. Make cuts on it, right under the kidneys.
  3. Place a 10 cm wide grooved bed. Lay a thin layer of humus on its bottom and sprinkle with a layer of soil on top.
  4. Gently bend the shoot, laying it in the groove and securing it with metal brackets.
  5. Cover the shoot with soil, but the top should look out.
  6. Then carry out the usual care of the bush.
