Therapeutic aloe juice. How to save for future use at home?

Aloe juice, or agave, is very widely used in cosmetology, folk medicine recipes and, of course, in everyday life. It is especially inconvenient to carry out the squeezing process before each use, so the question arises of the preparation and storage of juice. Aloe juice is widely used in its pure form, in recipes for creams and all kinds of masks. That is why it is very convenient when it is already prepared and it is not necessary to prepare a new product each time.

Is it possible to save for future use?

It is possible to store the juice and there are various ways to keep it in good condition, but in all cases certain conditions must be observed:

  1. No lightotherwise, all the beneficial properties will soon leave the juice, and it, in turn, will become worthless.
  2. Sealed container from dark glass, which, firstly, will not allow light to penetrate, and secondly, it will prevent oxidation under the influence of oxygen.
  3. Low temperature, since heat has a destructive effect on beneficial substances.
These recommendations are suitable for fresh aloe juice, as well as for tinctures based on it.

Home storage

Consider how you can store aloe juice at home for a long time, using various methods.

How much can you leave at room temperature?

Guided by the previously indicated rules, at room temperature it is possible to protect the juice from light and oxygen. This, of course, is not enough for long-term storage: under the influence of heat, it will lose its useful properties in an hour, and the liquid will gradually begin to take on a dark brown color.

therefore leaving juice at room temperature is recommended only for a short time use, and then - put in a cool place if the portion was more than required for a single application.

In the fridge

One of the most optimal places to store plant juice is a place that maintains a low temperature: 3 - 8 ° C will be enough. Naturally, this condition corresponds to the refrigerator.

Thus, focusing on the 3 basic rules and placing the juice in a tightly sealed container from a glass that does not allow light to pass onto the lower shelf of the refrigerator, you can achieve more significant success in storage time than leaving the juice at room temperature.

However, in this case, one should not hope for stunning results: pure or diluted with water juice will last no more than a week, although it is worth suspecting its suitability after 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.

It is possible to identify a juice that has lost its medicinal properties and is unusable by a change in color, texture and unpleasant odor.

It is believed that the addition of a small amount of citric acid powder or a few drops of grapefruit juice can keep nutrients from breaking down for another few days.

Freeze in the freezer

Freezing is an optimal way to maintain the effective action of aloe juice for a long time.

To expose it to such low temperatures can be pre-spilled in portioned containers. Within two hours, the juice will completely freeze, after which, for greater convenience, it is worth removing it from the trays and transfer, for example, in a plastic bag. In the frozen state, juice can be stored for about a year..

The cubes obtained, if necessary, should be thawed at room temperature and no more than two times. In addition, frozen juice can be used as a tonic ice, wiping the skin along massage lines.

The juice that has undergone freezing must not be forced heated before use, otherwise there will be a loss of nutrients, and the use of juice will not bring the desired result.

How to save as tinctures?

As stated earlier, storage conditions of pure aloe juice and tinctures based on it do not differ: Sealed container, lack of light and heat will help maintain fluid efficiency.

The main difference is the shelf life of the product under these conditions. But even here there are pitfalls, since not all tinctures can be kept equally long.

Alcohol-based aloe medicines preserve their beneficial properties for about a year, and it is better not to use honey tincture after six months.

Plant leaves

For storage, it is necessary to rinse the leaves with running water, dry them and pack them in a film in such a way as to prevent the penetration of oxygen.

After that leaves are cleaned in a cool place (about 4 - 8 ° C)not transmitting light for 12 days. Moisture from the leaves begins to evaporate, and the juice begins to concentrate. As a result, substances are formed that enhance metabolism and contribute to faster healing.

Thus, the preparation of both juice and agave leaves is a convenient way to save time on the extraction of these components of the plant, and proper storage helps maintain the effectiveness of the healing properties.
